Happy June, Alumni friends!

The Alumni Council may not be meeting again until fall, but opportunities for alumni engagement are plentiful, and we’d love to see you at an event this summer! Here are a few upcoming opportunities:
  • June is Pride Month! Bet-z Boenning ’93 and Tanya Atkinson ’93 are co-hosting a LGBTQIA+ Alumni and Friends Social at Walker’s Pint on Thursday, July 25, from 5:30 – 7:30. Please join us for a terrific opportunity to connect with alumni, meet Alumni Council members, hear about what's happening at Carroll, support a woman-owned business, quaff a frosty beverage, and show your support for Carroll's LGBTQIA+ students and alumni! You can find more details and register here.
  • If you’re in the Chicago area, consider attending the Chicago Alumni and Friends Gathering at the Museum of Illusions on Wednesday, August 7! Immerse yourself in mind-bending illusions while indulging in delicious Pizano's Pizza and an open beer and wine bar. All this for just $30, which is a fantastic value considering the adult museum ticket alone is $32. Register today!
  • The Alumnae Leadership Luncheon is a highlight of every summer, and I always leave inspired and humbled by the incredible ways Pioneer women are serving their communities and impacting the world. This year’s speaker is Yolanda Medina '16, M.Ed. '19, Director of the Military Veterans Resource Center at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. A Marine Corps veteran, Yolanda has blazed trails as the first female to work on the AV8-A Harrier. Passionate about supporting veterans, she co-created the Latino Veterans Pictorial Project and Legacy of Valor. Yolanda's journey includes overcoming challenges, such as completing her bachelor's degree while supporting her family and dealing with personal loss. Her talk, "Pioneering Women: Redefining Veteran Services Leadership," promises insights into her remarkable journey and the evolving landscape of veteran support. Join us as we celebrate Yolanda's achievements and learn from her invaluable experiences in leadership and service.
For details on many more upcoming opportunities, please visit the Alumni Events page. On behalf of the Carroll University Alumni Council, I wish you and yours a fantastic, safe, and fun-filled summer. Hope to see you at an event soon!
